Privacy Policy
Pentode Radio for macOS and iOS · effective 3 October 2026
This policy covers the Pentode Radio app and the pages about it on this website.
In short: we collect no data about you. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. We hold no servers storing anything about you, because there is nothing to store.
What we do not collect
We do not collect, request, store, transmit or share any of the following:
- your name, email address, phone number or any other contact details
- your location
- account or login details — Pentode Radio has no accounts
- your contacts, photos, files, calendar or health data
- device identifiers, advertising identifiers, or fingerprinting data of any kind
- usage statistics, analytics, telemetry or crash data sent to us
- payment or financial information
- anything you create inside the app
We do not use any third-party analytics, advertising or tracking services.
Data kept on your own device
Pentode Radio lets you save favourite stations and organise them into lists. That information is stored only on your own device, in the app's own storage. It is never sent to us and we have no way to see it.
You can remove all of it at any time by deleting the app.
Network connections
To work at all, Pentode Radio must use the internet. It does two things:
- it queries a public radio station directory (Radio-Browser) to search for stations, and
- it connects directly to the servers that stream the stations you choose to play.
As with any request made over the internet, those servers will see your device's IP address, because that is how the audio finds its way back to you. This is inherent to how the internet works and is the same for any web browser or audio player. We do not receive, log, store or have any access to that information. How those independent third-party services handle data is governed by their own privacy policies, not this one.
Apple services
Purchases are handled entirely by Apple. We never see your name, your card details or any other payment information. Apple may provide us with aggregate, anonymised sales reports that contain no personal information about any individual.
If you use TestFlight, or choose to send a crash report to Apple, that is handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy. We do not operate any crash-reporting, analytics or telemetry service of our own.
Children's privacy
Because we collect no data at all, we also collect no data from children. The app is suitable for all ages and gathers no information from anyone, including children under 13.
Your rights
Data protection law — including the UK GDPR, and the GDPR and CCPA where they apply — gives you rights to access, correct, delete and port your personal data, and to object to its processing.
Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to retrieve, correct, delete or transfer. If you want the data the app keeps on your device removed, deleting the app removes it completely.
Sharing and selling
We do not sell, rent, trade or share personal data with anyone. We hold none to sell.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. If a future version of Pentode Radio were ever to collect data, this policy would be updated before that happened.
